I’m Gillian! I’m a family photographer who is obsessed with capturing not just the major milestones, but all the in-between moments that make up your family life. Most of my clients stay with me from maternity sessions through to annual family photos, and I love getting to know each family and documenting the unique ways they grow and change over the years.
Are you in search of a breathtaking location to capture the beauty of pregnancy in a maternity photoshoot? Look no further than Murrell Park, situated amidst the bustling Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Its serene surroundings, majestic landscapes, and tranquil atmosphere, Murrell Park provides the perfect backdrop to capture your dreamy, golden maternity session.
As the sun sets on the horizon, the park transforms into a magical wonderland. The tranquil waters of Grapevine Lake reflect the golden hues of the sun, while the gentle sway of the oak trees creates a vibrant and colorful ambiance. The symphony of nature fills the air, creating an aura of peace and tranquility that is sure to enchant anyone who visits.
Alexandra, adorned in beautiful dresses from Reclamation, Flutterdress, and Selia Art Dresses. All three of these pieces were borrowed from my client closet and looked amazing against the backdrop of Murrell Park. The flowing fabrics of the dresses caught the wind, and the ethereal, golden sunset highlighted the beauty of the life growing within her. The bond between a mother and her unborn child is simply indescribable. Perfectly captured in every loving glance and tender cuddle portrayed in the photographs.
As we walked through the winding paths of Murrell Park, we were captivated by the beauty of the place. Each photograph in the gallery captures the excitement and wonder of bringing new life into the world.
Beyond the stunning visuals captured during our outdoor maternity session, there lies a deeper significance to the experience itself. Maternity sessions are a celebration of the journey of motherhood. They provide an opportunity to embrace the profound sense of connection with nature and the unborn child. It is an honor to be a part of such a profound and beautiful experience.
The best time to BOOK your maternity session and reserve your spot on my booking calendar is your second trimester. When it comes to deciding the actual timing of your maternity photoshoot, timing IS key, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. Generally, it is suggested to do your session between 32-36 weeks into your pregnancy, typically around 7-8 months. However, this recommendation can vary based on individual circumstances.
Several factors such as your overall health, how you’re feeling during your pregnancy, and whether it’s your first pregnancy or not should all be considered when deciding the best time for your photoshoot. For instance, if you’ve had previous pregnancies, there’s a chance of an earlier delivery, prompting you to opt for an earlier session. Conversely, first-time mothers might prefer to wait until closer to 36 weeks to showcase a more prominent baby bump.
Ultimately, your comfort and well-being should be the top priority. If you’re experiencing any discomfort or have concerns about your health, it’s wise to schedule your photoshoot earlier in your pregnancy. While the recommended timeframe falls between 32-36 weeks, every mama’s journey is unique, and the ideal month for your maternity session may differ based on your personal circumstances and preferences.
